Messy Play,  Play

Apple Painting

This activity wasn’t planned. William saw the paints in our craft box and asked for them.

I can’t say I was particularly in the mood for painting that day but I wasn’t going to get between a raging toddler and something he really wanted!

Luckily I had a Crafty Pod. I was gifted this to try out with William and its literally been a life saver. The Crafty Pod contains mess but critically it has a ‘messy mat’ which is machine washable. GAME CHANGER!

It takes the stress out of messy play so I’m not fazed doing it in our living room anymore.

Anyway, back to a Friday morning with paint! Instead of paintbrushes I decided to try something a bit different. I had seen people like to use potatoes to paint but as I didn’t have any I chopped an apple in half, popped a form in it and we tried apple painting!

I’ve got to say apple painting was a surprising hit! Really really enjoyed it. He also particularly enjoyed painting himself!
