Number Stairway

When William started to show an interest in numbers I decided to start incorporating them into every day life as much as possible.

One idea I came up with was to out the numbers going up the stairs as William LOVES to go up and down the stairs. Oh man those stairs, I’ve been up and down them sooooo many times with him haha! The number stairway was born!

As I now in the least creative I decided to buy the numbers from the Teachers Pay Teachers website. Grab the link to the numbers here.

I did make 1 mistake and that was not to laminate them. William, like most toddlers, sees something he wants and PULLS! This meant some of them ripped straight away. Cursing myself I did it again but this time laminated the numbers to make them stronger. A much better ideas as we have also used these numbers in so many other ways since.

The number stairway turned out to be a hit. It was a great way to priactise our number counting as we climbed the stairs but also to reinforce the visual of each number.

Learning should be fun and I think this is a prime example of how we can do it in our own home with our littles 🙂
