Big Vs Small Sorting Mat

I’m a member of the Little Play Club with Little lifelong Learners and this template came in one of the monthly play packs.

You could easily do a sorting mat template yourself though, all you need is some paper and a pen!

For this activity I used different sized pom poms. Another fun idea is to collect things from around the house or on a walk and you can have 2 large pieces of paper one for all the ‘big’ objects and one for the ‘small’.

This is a fab toddler activity as they start to become aware that things can be bigger or smaller than other objects. Sometimes William got it wrong if there wasn’t much difference between the Pom Poms so its a good idea to start off with obviously big or small objects and make it a little more challenging each time you play.
