Dino Dig
This is a great activity for a rainy day when sand play outside isn’t on the agenda.
I scooped sand from the sandpit into a tub and hid little dinosaurs for William to find. his very own dino dig!
He used his hands to scoop and dig for the dinos.
Before long he was asking for water so he could wash the sand off the dinos (and his hands!).

This activity is great in that you can hide so many different things, whatever small toys you have. I think treasure would be a great one! William was 24 months when we tried this but I wish I had started sooner!
I used our tuff tray underneath to save on clean up and for me not to be stressing about sand going everywhere but in hindsight I think a towel is easier. That way you just take it outside for a good shake and you’re cleaned up!
