Number Tracing Board

It’s a great idea to invest in long life quality learning resources that you will use over and over.

For us, this number tracing board is exactly one of those pieces. Numbered from 1-10 it provides so many learning opportunities for now and in the future.

At the moment (William is 28 months) we keep it simple and we count the numbers as we point to them. He gets some right and some wrong. At the moment though I know he’s really reciting the numbers and isn’t recognising them (apart from 1-3) so the tracing board provides a perfect opportunity for him to see the number and also feel it.

Every time we use the number board in play we are reinforcing his learning of the numbers.

Often I will put out a different sensory base for William to fill the numbers with such as hard beans, rainbow rice, or on this occasion, Pom Poms.

This wooden number tracing board was from Little Coach House Woodworks. It was money worth spending for us and also, they do some other brilliant things so do check them out! Just so you know this isn’t an ad despite me singing their praises! I just want to share with you great finds when I find them 🙂
