Ocean Salt

Salt is such a wonderful play resource if your little is past the tasting stage.

Its cheap, quick and easy. Of course you don’t have to dye it but it makes a beautiful sensory experience if you do.

This was the first time I introduced William to salt and he got stuck in.

I didn’t do too much salt, just enough for him to explore, this was around 1 cup.

After dying it (mixing the salt with blue dye and lots of mixing!) I added it to a shallow bowl and dotted on a few of his sea life creatures. I added a spoon and some some bowls which were loose parts from Nursery Nook.

As you can see William LOVED this. His hands also went a lovely shade of blue but it did wash out lol!

You might be thinking, “but he didn’t even crack a smile” 😉

That’s William for you! He’s very focussed here, thinking about what he’s doing, working on his hand eye coordination when pouring. He’s what I would call ‘very busy’.

This ocean salt activity was a hit and definitely one which will be repeated!
