Pom Poms & Tweezers

Introducing tools like tweezers and scoops are a great way to help improve your littles ones strength and dexterity in their hands as well as hand eye coordination.

For this quick prep activity I added colourful Pom Poms to one of Williams colourful weaning plates. These are great fun alone as they often come in different shapes like a monkey face (this one).

I added the challenge of tweezers and William really had a good go at it. He struggled so as well as showing him I put my hand over his to help guide him. William can become frustrated easily so I try and keep it light and fun and when he’s done I don’t push him to try more.

This can be a really nice invitation to play for toddlers and older kids alike. For older children you can use smaller Pom Poms to make it a bit tricker and really get them concentrating!
