Simple Counting Board

Need a use for the hundreds of bottle caps you’ve been collecting?

Here’s a basic introduction to counting using milk bottle tops. I called it, very originally, William’s counting board lol!

I only did numbers 1-3 as that was our focus at the time.

I simply stuck down the bottle caps to a piece of card and wrote down the number. I left a bowl of Pom Poms next to it for us to count the number of Pom Poms on to our diy simple counting board.

I’m going to be straight up with you here. The 1st attempt at this William was only interested in pulling off the bottle lids. It made me laugh as he destroyed my efforts in seconds. Gotta laugh right?

I popped it away and brought it out 2 months later and then he enjoyed it. Sometimes kids just aren’t ready yet for the activities we put out for them. In hindsight this was too much for him at the time but a few months later, which developmentally is a big leap in the life of a toddler, he was ready to play!
